Are You Wearing The Right Sized Bra?

There has been a lot of hype over the past year about women not wearing the right sized bras. Most women think that they are a completely different size to what they actually are and that can cause many problems. The main problem is that it can cause you to have back problems and it could even cause your breasts to become saggy. So, exactly how do know which size you truly are and which types of bras should you be wearing?

Knowing Your True Size

The only way to truly know just what size you really are is to get yourself measured at a lingerie store. That way you will be fitted professionally and you will know exactly which size bras to choose from. A lot of women do not like the idea of being measured properly, but the assistants within a lingerie store are actually trained to measure you and it is not as embarrassing as many women think it will be.

Of course it is always possible to measure yourself at home on your own and there are many websites which tell you how to do it. However, many websites show differing sizes and so it is not always easy to find out your true size by measuring yourself. Even when you do get measured professionally, bras tend to differ in sizes depending upon the store. For example, a size 36C in one store may fit whereas choosing another size 36C in another store may not. It is the same as when you shop for clothes and different stores stock different sizes so you never completely know if something will fit properly.

Choosing the Right Bra for You

Once you do know which size you actually are, how do you know which type of bras to choose? Well generally there are two main types – either underwired or ordinary bras.

Underwired bras are great if you want that extra support. Many people with bigger breasts tend to opt for underwired bras as the ordinary ones cause their breasts to become saggy. However, the trouble with underwired bras is that they have to fit perfectly. This is because if they do not, the wire tends to start sticking out of the bra after a while and it can end up sticking into your skin becoming painful and the bra will need chucking away. So, always ensure that you do get the right size otherwise you will know about it!

Generally you should choose different types of bras for different occasions. If you exercise a lot you should have at least two sports bras. Then you should have t-shirt bras for casual wear and finally fancy lingerie for special occasions. If you rely upon one bra it will certainly not last you very long! So always try and have a selection.

If you are unsure as to which brands to go for then generally Ultimo, Wonderbra, Sorbet, Mademoiselle, Panache, Young Attitude, Freya, Vanity Fair and Triumph. All are good quality brands and they are also good value for money.

Overall it is better to shop around in order to find the perfect bras for you. There is such a wide choice of styles and colours to suit all tastes so you shouldn’t have a problem finding something to suit you.
